Curse Of The Billy Goat
Curse Of The Billy Goat
Legend has it that in 1945, during Game 4 of the World Series, a man named Billy Sianis tried to bring his pet goat to Wrigley Field to cheer on the Chicago Cubs. The goat’s smell didn’t sit well with the other fans, and both were asked to leave. Furious, Sianis supposedly cursed the Cubs, saying they would never win another World Series. For the next 71 years, the curse seemed real as the Cubs faced decades of heartbreaking losses—until they finally broke the 'Curse of the Billy Goat' with their 2016 World Series win. The stories of what transpired vary, some say the goat was kicked out because people complained about the smell, some say he was never admitted, some have Sianis sending a message to Wrigley after the Cubs started losing asking "Who stinks now?"
